The pastoral reflection for the Sunday of Labor Day weekend is entitled, Onesimus: Worker Justice Pioneer.
Pastor Dave Denoon will introduce those of you who do not already know him to Onesimus, the subject of Paul’s letter to Philemon. Onesimus, whose name means “Useful,” was a slave who ran to Paul for refuge, and for whose freedom the letter pleads. This letter fed well the Abolition Movement and continues to add fuel to calls for worker justice today!
