What’s Old Is New Again
What has been is what will be,
and what has been done is what will be done;
there is nothing new under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 1:9
I’m doing my best to stay philosophical about the situation in which we find ourselves in the office, for now. And I could use some help keeping on track with that. Let me explain.
Conditions in the office have indicated that, after a year and a half of reducing costs by dividing up our full time Office Administrator position into two part time pieces, we did indeed save some money, but piecemealing our operations made things to run less efficiently and to require more supervision.
So, the Executive Ministry, still trying to stay as close as possible to the budget while also accomplishing the tasks at hand, has decided to reassemble many of the component parts of the Office Administrator into a three-quarter time position.
This is potentially what you might call a budget buster, because at thirty hours our personnel policy requires us to offer an employee a suite of benefits. Still, by valuing the position more highly we hope to attract stronger candidates.
Here’s the help I could use from you (and you’ll be helping the rest of the staff… and the Ministries and Officers of the church, too). It is important to find those strong candidates! So, if you know of someone who would be interested in having a job with a stellar organization and no better crew of colleagues, please point them at our website. Specifically, have them go to FirstChurchWG.org/news/job-opening/
Meanwhile and even after the new person is brought on board, the Office could use your help in taking care of some simple day-to-day tasks. We’re seeking volunteers. Find out more at FirstChurchWG.org/news/january17_volunteer/
Happy New Year!
