Music Notes for January
Thanks to all who participated in so many ways for making our Christmas Eve Service of Lessons & Carols such a wonderful experience at the new 9:00PM time. We had about 50 in the congregation, easily twice as many as in recent years at 11PM.
As we begin this new year, we find Dr. Ray Landis away with family, so he’ll have no report until February.
In the meantime, please note that adults and youth who are interested in serving as Magi or Camel (giant) puppeteers for our Epiphany Celebration in worship on January 8 are encouraged to join Ray and others on Saturday morning, January 7 for a training and rehearsal, beginning at 9:00AM in the Narthex.
To volunteer for this fun and important part of our Epiphany Celebration, please contact Ray by email or at ext. 17 when you call the church office number.
Potluck with King Cake, January 8
Surely the Magi were tired and hungry with giant appetites after their journey to meet the Child Jesus!
Perhaps you will be, too.
The Parish Life Ministry announces our annual Epiphany Potluck in Memorial Hall following worship on Sunday, January 8.
Ham and King Cake will be provided. Please bring a favorite side dish or dessert to share.
New Rack Cards Now Available!
New cards produced specifically for distribution in 2017 are now available from the Narthex table and the Office.
Be sure to get your own set, to hand to new neighbors or others who may be seeking a church home. They’re also perfect for publicity racks at hotels, libraries, and other locations where people gather.
The cards make known the fact that our church is a recipient of a Lilly Endowment Clergy Renewal Grant and will be “Renewing Our Mission,” this year, by exploring how we may strengthen our voice and witness for the betterment of ourselves, our community, and our society.
