Our worship for the morning is a Hymn Sing. This is a familiar practice among traditional mainline Christians: rather than the usual sermon, the message of the day is offered through song as worshipers request favorite hymns. Surprisingly, this weekend’s requests are not as familiar as usual but include selections from newer songbooks as well as from historic ones. So, maybe it’s more of a Song Fest than a Hymn Sing…
