Healing Team
As part of First Church’s pastoral care program, the Center has also developed a Healing Team of church members and others trained by Rev. Smith for the purpose of providing caring ears and hearts. Anointing for the sake of well-being and wholeness are occasionally part of our Sunday morning worship and on other special occasions. The Healing Team is often found in such settings providing one-on-one prayer with congregants who request it. The Healing Team, along with Pastor Dave Denoon and Rev. Linda Smith, are also available for prayer through our online Prayer Requests.

Sue Brady
BS, HTCP

Sue  is a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner, having completed her certification in 2014.

Sue is currently working on Life Coaching certification at the Martha Beck Life Coaching Institute. Life Coaching is a practice that focuses on an area of low satisfaction in your life. It starts with looking at the thoughts, beliefs systems that are causing us pain and holding us back from living a life of joy.  Each of us has the keys to our own right life within us.  Coaching gives you the tools to navigate life and help you connect your head and your heart, a Mind-Body connection, so you can access this inner wisdom to make course corrections that better serve you.

Her gifts and talents related to coaching help others to see through what’s holding them back, glimpse the life they were born to live, and to craft a plan to help them actualize their dreams.

As a Life Coach she is particularly gifted in helping individuals in mid-life embrace who they are, reflect on their gifts and talents, and identify their core message, the story that repeats itself in their life. Together Sue and clients create a plan for their Second Act in life showcasing their unique genius.

Terri Terhaar
Center for Counseling and Healing

My name is Terri Terhaar and I’m a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner and a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist.  These two modalities work beautifully together to restore harmony and balance to the whole person.  Scientists have found that 95% of all illness is due to unexpressed or unprocessed emotions or history of unresolved trauma that if not dealt with, manifest in physical illness.  Healing Touch and Aromatherapy can help facilitate a healing response in the body, placing the person in a condition to self-heal, thus empowering the body to release what has been trapped or unexpressed.  A specific essential oil is used plus Healing Touch techniques to facilitate the healing process.  This all takes place while you lie comfortably, fully clothed on a massage table in a receiving state of deep relaxation.  I look forward to working with you to help bring your body into harmony and balance for healing of your mind, body and spirit.
